The MCA was established by the community of Mendenhall Subdivision on October 9 1990.



Since its inception, the executive council and its directors continue to be elected by the community. Elections take place every spring at the association's annual general meeting, usually held in March.



In addition to overseeing and organizing community based activities and events, the function of the MCA is to act as a liason between the community of Mendenhall Subdivision and the Yukon Government.
